BRIOCCOLAGE MIRROR (2021)
A bricolage is an amateur that finds objects from everyday life, and creates something new from them.
The Bricolage Mirror is 5ft by 2ft, wired to hang horizontally, creating a fisheye effect.
I found this white mirror in a recycling bin on the street. It was a little warped from standing upright for so long, which gives it a unique fisheye reflective effect when turned horizontal. The faux rain turns the mirror into a window, reflected back into the room.
I spent 15 hours over 3 days making this frame, and when I thought of the idea I wanted to get started immediately – to decorate/celebrate the first apartment I’ve been able to renew a lease at after 5 consecutive years of moving.
