The 2025 Google IO Conference is an annual event focused on Google developer software tools, partner app integrations, and product updates. The 2025 event focused heavily on Google Gemini AI advancements, culminating in a weekend-long online event that brings the coding and digital marketing community together.
Over 3 months, our team of art directors, designers and animators were contracted by Google to create 4 hours of runtime for the global keynote presentation, as well as visuals and tutorial content. This event served as the major launch moment for the features outlined in the videos included here.
Many, if not all, of these features were in development until the days before the event. The software updates and new tools impacted the existing UI visual language for color stories, button states, window transitions, and input framework between desktop and mobile. This required our teams to stay connected and organize our revisions with our clients in an efficient way while working on the suite of apps.
My role was to storyboard new products on desktop and mobile, and be certain our tutorials were presenting UI-accurate workflows and illustrating new AI spaces across the Google Suite of products consistently in regards to appearance, ratio, placement, transitions, and timing.
Each video asset was storyboarded and animated in 16x9, 9x16 and 1x1 ratios to be used seamlessly across Google's Keynote address, social media pages, and blog at: www.gemini.google/about.

Using the Google Gemini App, mobile phones can hold spoken conversations with a user, aided by the phone camera to give context to their input in real-time.
GEMINI: DEEP RESEARCH + CANVAS TOOLS
A step-by-step simulation of Gemini's new Deep Research function, with capabilities to: integrate handwritten notes, integrate sources, cull together additional sources for further reading, analyze all results in a summarized report, and generate a full report document based on your findings in-person and online, saved to your Google Drive.
GEMINI CANVAS: QUIZ
Using the Deep Research function within Gemini, users can create quizzes based on the information gathered in their handwritten notes, google drive files, or internet searches.
GEMINI IN CHROME
Gemini comes to Google Chrome to be your personalized internet assistant, adding insight to your everyday tasks and searches.

Use Gemini to read and summarize content on a page to choose the best items for you while shopping online.

Use Gemini to ask questions and receive personalized insights that are catered to your life.

Use Gemini for a second opinion or tutoring help as you research new topics and study online.

Use Gemini to evaluate step-by-step guides and recreate them to follow using a process that's best for you.

GEMINI LIVE IN CHROME
Speak aloud to Gemini in Chrome to have a conversation with your current webpage to find out more information. This premium feature is abstracted in this video in a similar style to Gemini's VSS speakerphone-enabled features on mobile devices.
GEMINI APP INTEGRATIONS
Icon and header page designs for blog posts accompanying the conference launches.
YOUTUBE CREATOR HUB
A new feature in the Youtube Creator Hub allows both brands and creators to monetize and approve their video partnerships during the upload process.

Creator-initiated linking prompts a brand to approve sponsored content as the creator uploads their video.

Creator partnerships hub is now available to brands manage the newly uploaded content from their creator network and schedule partner videos to be published and live on a designated campaign schedule queue.
